Chiropractic care for Auto Accidents

The extent of an auto accident injury does not equal the damage to the vehicle! Less damage to your vehicle could mean more damage to your spine (the law of inertia - Sir Isaac Newton). 

What happens to your spine in an auto accident:

         -Subluxations (vertebrae not in alignment) which will cause pain.
         -Micro tears in the collagen fibers of the ligaments of the spine and to the facet joints. 
            -The tears will start to heal, which will develop scar tissue and range of motion will be limited, which will cause Pain.

Without Chiropractic Care:

          -Scar tissue will develop, which contributes to loss of range of motion and chronic pain.
          -Degeneration of Spine and nervous system and chronic pain and disease. 

What Chiropractic Care Does for you:

          -Proper healing of the collagen fibers which equals no scar tissue, normal range of Motion, healing of facet joints, and no premature degeneration.
          -Addressing the problem, not just covering pain, 
          -Less interference with the spine and nervous system

Auto Accident Checklist:

Do not talk about who is at fault - Note time of accident - Call 911

           -An accident report is required in Arizona if the property damage exceeds $300. 

Immediately take pictures:

(Before moving vehicles if possible....SAFETY FIRST)
            -Positions of vehicles and damage to vehicles
            -Surrounding area-street signs, skid marks, objects or debris involved in accident
            -The other driver's license and license plate

Exchange information:

             -The other drivers' name and phone number
             -The other drivers' insurance name, agent, policy number and phone number
             -Name and number of an eye witnesses - don't count on the police to take their info

Call your insurance company:

            -Remember that your insurance rep is not a healthcare provider! 

Call a lawyer if there is a question of who is at fault:

            -Please let Dr. Cathcart recommend a lawyer, he will make sure you work with the best! 

Call your chiropractor:

            -No matter how small the accident, you need to get your spine checked and treated right away Dr. Cathcart has been taking care of auto injury cases since 1992!
